For over 35 years, Mark has been the Owner and Creative Director of Robert, Mather & Gibbs Adv/Design. A Cleveland, Ohio native who earned his BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design, Mark spent two years at Morgan Studios, a Cleveland-based design agency specializing in cosmetic packaging before heading west to Sonoma County.
In 1981, Mark decided to open his own agency in Santa Rosa with fellow designer Richard Mather Mapes and account manager Linda Gibbs. The agency's name Robert Mather & Gibbs was a compilation of the middle and last names of the principles. In October 2018, Robert Mather & Gibbs celebrated 37 years as a full service advertising and design agency.
Over these many years, Mark has developed long standing relationships with clients such as: Delicato Family Vineyards, Jackson Family Wines, Trinchero Family Estates, Rodney Strong Vineyards, Clos DuVal Winery, Hahn Family Wines, Mendocino Wine Company, Ferrari-Carano, Darcy's Fine Jewelers, Don & Sons Wines, La Tortilla Factory, and Jack & Tony's Restaurant. Many of these collaborations have led to award winning designs and increased sales success stories for their clients.
Mark lives in Santa Rosa with his wife Leslie, a realtor with Pacific Union. They enjoy their leisure time reading, traveling, skiing, attending rock festivals and of course, being food & wine enthusiasts with their family & friends.
In addition to marking the arrival of our 37th anniversary, 2018 also commemorates the end as well. This November concludes many years of working for the best Sonoma and Napa County Companies and Marketing Professionals. Additionally, I’ve had access to the best photographers, stylists and printers, all creatively contributing to the success of our clients. I have also been lucky to have had some of the most talented designers, artists and project managers enthusiastically making their contribution to our success. While I am ending my role as business owner, I plan on staying active in the creative community as a Creative Director, Consultant or simply a frustrated painter.
